My friend Caleb

Last week Jon and I were able to take a CPR class through Duncan, and my friend Tonya graciously watched Jeremiah. Her little boy, Caleb, just turned one year old, and she sent me some pictures of what they did while we were at class. Caleb probably "played" a little more than Jeremiah, but it looks like they had fun together!

In other news, Jeremiah is now around 16 lbs. and giving my arms a workout whenever we go somewhere. He has discovered his fingers, and Jon and I often catch him examining his hand, turning it in different directions as he checks it all out. He's also learned he can make more noises, like a screaming noise that he's currently making as I write. That's one I hope he soon outgrows!

Great Grandma's Visit

We had a really great time this last week when my (Jon's) Grandmother came from Phoenix for a visit. This was also during her birthday, so it was fun to celebrate that with her. We also rolled out the Midwest red carpet with some of the coldest temperatures this winter. We had fun, indoors, and Grandma got to hold Jeremiah a lot. We had great fun playing board games and Grandma even let me win a couple.

Clapping is Fun

We've discovered that Jeremiah loves to clap, as you can see. He sure is a lot of fun!

Ski Country

I'm posting to this blog today from Eagle, CO. I brought a customer out to Eagle yesterday for a weekend of skiing. We were supposed to go into Aspen, but weather prevented us from getting in, so we ended up here in Eagle. It's really beautiful country out here. No skiing for me though, I'm a bit rusty and really don't need to mess up my knees or a break a leg.

Things That Make Jeremiah Smile*

  1. 1. Clapping your hands.

  2. Clicking your tongue or saying "ch-ch-ch-ch." (If you do this with his hand to your mouth, he'll also laugh.)

  3. Riding the "horse" on Mommy's crossed legs.

  4. Daddy singing the Fishing song.

  5. Saying "Good morning, Jeremiah" when you go to his crib first thing in the morning.

  6. Blowing on his hair. (This will also make him laugh.)

  7. Daddy coming home from a trip.

  8. Pulling his arms out of his sleeves when you change him. (I have no idea why.)
  9. Telling him that he's cute.
One thing that doesn't make Jeremiah smile--the camera!

Making Noise

We've had several people ask us, "Is he always this quiet? Does he ever make any noise?" Well, here's proof that the answers are "no" and "yes" respectively. And yes, this is a happy Jeremiah.

Sleep

Ok, we probably won't get much sympathy from our parents on this one, but here goes. That elusive sleeping through the night. When will it come? We get all kinds of answers when we ask that question. We're sure it will come but when? Can we do anything to help him sleep through the night, are we doing something wrong during the day, so he doesn't sleep all the way through. Maybe we just have to endure and wait. Waiting, now there's a subject we know something about.
